Australia Council for the Arts

Australian Government’s Arts funding and advisory body. Our focus is on increasing the visibility of Australia’s vibrant arts and culture, and recognising the evolving way that Australians make and experience art. Our role is to support the unimagined along with the reimagined, the unknown and experimental along with the keenly anticipated. We are a champion for Australian arts both here and overseas. Department of Communication and the Arts

Develops Australian Government policies and delivers programmes that encourage excellence in the arts, help to protect Australian cultural heritage, and support public access to and participation in arts and culture in Australia.

Arts Queensland

Arts Queensland, part of the Department of Environment and Science, is dedicated to growing a vibrant and sustainable arts and cultural sector in Queensland. We recognise the public value of Queensland’s dynamic arts and cultural sector and its delivery on the Queensland Government’s community objectives. Specifically, its contribution to the creation of jobs and a diverse economy, and building safe, caring and connected communities. Arts Queensland is committed to ensuring integrity, accountability and consultation in delivering on our responsibilities and approach, and communicating outcomes.

Livingstone Shire Council

Livingstone Shire Council launched the Placemaking Program in 2017. For those of you not familiar with placemaking, it’s broadly about being more creative in the way we treat and interact with our public spaces in order to create a community that is more inviting, more interesting, more stimulating, more comfortable, more vibrant and more fun. The Council has elected to aggressively pursue placemaking because it understands that when people love a place/places this adds enormous social and economic value to a community, an outcome that is core to the role of local government.

Rockhampton Regional Council

Rockhampton Regional Council is committed to supporting the delivery of projects/events within the Rockhampton Regional Council area that contribute to building community and economic capacity. Council offers assistance to eligible organizations through seven categories of funding:

Banana Shire Regional Art Gallery

The Banana Shire Regional Gallery (BSRAG) is an initiative operated by the Banana Shire Council and sits alongside the Banana Shire Council Chambers in Biloela. The gallery is free to the public and displays local, Central Queensland artists, and works from beyond through touring exhibitions. The gallery has two exhibition spaces where displays are changed around every 6-8 weeks, and workshop facilities. The gallery also houses the Banana Shire Art Collection which is displayed amongst the exhibition schedule.

Emerald Art Gallery

Emerald Art Gallery showcases exhibitions from local, state and national artists and is located in the Central Highlands Regional Council office building at the corner of Egerton and Borilla Streets, Emerald.

Gladstone Art Gallery & Museum

The Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum was established in 1985 and is a community cultural initiative funded by the Gladstone Regional Council. It is dedicated to promoting art and heritage for the communities of the Gladstone Region and Central Queensland and act as custodians for the preservation and display of the region’s history and cultural heritage.

Rockhampton Art Gallery

Situated along the Fitzroy River in the heart of Central Queensland, Rockhampton Art Gallery was established in 1967. The Gallery’s permanent collection tracks Australia’s modernist movement and with artworks by luminaries such as Charles Blackman, Arthur Boyd, Sidney Nolan, Russell Drysdale, John Brack and Fred Williams amounts to one of the most significant collections in regional Australia. Works by Del Kathryn Barton, Daniel Boyd, Sally Gabori, Imants Tillers and Ben Quilty are representative of the Gallery’s continuing tradition of incorporating a progressive collection with consideration of contemporary influences from across the globe. A diverse exhibition program runs throughout the year with displays drawn from the Gallery’s permanent collection, in-house curated projects and touring exhibitions from international, national, state and regional galleries. For a truly immersive art experience, Rockhampton Art Gallery offers innovative education and public programs to visitors of all ages, from toddlers to lifelong learners, and a must-visit gift shop for artisan made giftware. The Gallery is owned and operated by Rockhampton Regional Council.
