Experience | Jessica is a regionally-based arts educator and researcher specialising in applied theatre. Her practice centres around developing new work in, with and for communities and amplifying underrepresented voices on Australian stages. She is currently pursuing a PhD with the University of New England to expand her research into new and novel ways of engaging theatre-averse and disengaged communities in collaborative storytelling and theatre practice. Jessica currently teaches secondary drama at Rockhampton Girls Grammar School and is the Theatre Projects Coordinator for Arts Central Queensland Inc. Across all of her roles, she enjoys working with emerging and established artists to foster the development of new work. |

Education | Jess holds a Master of Applied Theatre Studies (2019) which she obtained through the University of New England (Australia). She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Education (2011) specialising in Senior Years Education and a Bachelor of Creative Industries (2010) specialising in Drama, obtained through the Queensland University of Technology. She is currently pursuing a PhD through the University of New England, focusing on the potential role of gaming systems in the production of responsive performance experiences within ‘theatre desert’ communities. |
